SERVICES: subsidized housing, social housing, application, rent supplement, housing registry, caseworkers, youth workers, referral, emergency fund
ABOUT: Social Housing is subsidized housing provided in a variety of locations throughout Sault Ste. Marie. The Social Housing Division manages all applications for subsidized housing, administers all aspects of the Sault Ste. Marie Housing Corporation portfolio including the Commercial Rent Supplement program. Social Housing Division also administers contracts with Social Housing providers in the community.

Homelessness: The Social Services Department is also responsible for administering the Federal Homelessness Partnering Strategy for the purposes of addressing the issue of Homelessness within our community. The Community Coordinator has engaged agencies, organizations and business in developing a Community Plan to address homelessness and administers funding from HPS to programs that address the needs identified in the Plan and the updated plan.
