ABOUT: The District of Parry Sound Social Services Administration Board (DSSAB) is the Service Manager for social housing in the District of Parry Sound. Final responsibility for administering social housing was transferred to the DSSAB effective March 1, 2002.

Social housing units are owned and operated by local housing, non-profit or co-operative housing corporations. In the District, there is one local housing corporation owned by the DSSAB (Parry Sound District Housing Corporation) and five non-profits (Parry Sound Municipal Non-Profit, Golden Sunshine Municipal Non-Profit in Powassan, Affordable Housing Now [private non-profit in Parry Sound], and two federal projects – Fell Homes in Burk’s Falls, and Georgian Bay Native Non-profit Housing in Parry Sound. The province regulates social housing through the Social Housing Reform Act (SHRA) as well as the Tenant Protection Act.
